Detached garage broken into - looking for a DIY security system
Post Flair (click to view more posts with a particular flair)
Post Body
Last night, my detached garage was broken into. Luckily they didn't get away with much (only around $1700 worth of stuff). It could have been much worse, considering what is in my garage.
I already have an 8 camera DVR with day/night cameras already (been planning to set them up once it got warm).
Useful info
- Four garage doors
- One man door
- Four windows
- Approximately 40x24
- One garage bay is separated by a wall
- Garage is approximately 25 feet from the house, covered by home wifi
What I'm looking for
- Wired or wireless system (I'd honestly prefer wired for reliability, I don't mind wiring it)
- Siren (the louder the better)
- Sensors for doors/windows
- Remote to arm/disarm the system without entering the garage would be nice (so I can disarm before I hit the garage door opener)
- Network connectivity would be nice
- Future tie-in to home automation would be nice (Samsung Smartthings is on my list)
- Preferably under $1000
Thanks for the help everyone!
