So, I used to have Hass.io (I think, maybe it was hassbian) installed 2 years ago, and it got corrupted after a power outage. I was stupid and didnt have a backup, so I recovered my configuration files and automations from the SD card, so at least I have those.
Anyway, my problem is that when I try to install Hass.io using the recommended image for my RPi 3 B , I am getting a bunch of errors:
I have tried
- 2 different SD Cards, one with 32 GB, one with 64GB
- both Etcher and rufus to write the image.
- formatting the SD card as both NTFS and Fat
- Both the 32 and 64 bit images
- I am connected with an Ethernet Cable
Most of the time, when I connect to it from my desktop, it is stuck on the "Preparing Home Assistant, this can take up to 20 mins" screen.
I'm not very familiar with the RPi or Linux, but i can usually get myself through this type of stuff, so I dont really know how to do fschk or anything.
Does the RPi have internal storage that needs to be reset after the last img install? Am I supposed to take the SD card out of the RPi at some point?
Edit: I just purchased a new SanDisk 64GB Class 10 U3 A2 card, I'll update if that works.
Side question: how would I run fsck on this card with the RPi? some sort of CLI on a RPi?
Anyone have any thoughts on a solution?
Thanks!
