Which notification platform are you using?

I've started messing with the idea of having a notification sent out to my other half when I arrive home (read: connect to wifi), or when I leave, and the same setup for her. I started using Pushbullet to implement this, but I'm just not convinced, and I was hoping to get something less intrusive. Idk, maybe an SMS or some other form of notification.
What are you guys using for this kind of setup?
