New to HA so bear with me.

I got a thermostat recently and it runs on Tuya, so it does appear in home assistant and I can set the temperature fine and turn it on and off. My problem is that the controls along the bottom of the card are pretty random:

As far as I can tell, the three "Heat/Cool" buttons do nothing, the "Heat" button puts it in program mode, the "Cool" button puts it in manual mode, the "Fan" button puts it in program mode, and the "Off" button does turn it off.

My thermostat is quite a basic one and only controls heat, so most of these buttons don't make sense anyway. Is there a way to customise these buttons so that they make more sense for my thermostat?

MincoHome WiFi is the model, if it helps. It runs on Tuya.
