like the instances I can recall of this show tackling abuse stories where males are the victims of females are I think Mandy got violent with Tony back in 2005 0r 6? but it was excused away because they had just lost their baby daughter Grace.

in 2017 Ellie abused Freddie for a while but it was just used as a stepping stone to tell her Rape storyline and again her behaviour was forgotten about and excused and now they've done this abuse plot with Rayne and Romeo only to turn it into a goofy whodunnit storyline and they made the killer her victim and now its looking like he's gonna get sent down for it even tho it was accidental self defence.

and these are the only instances when its actually been acknowledged Kim straight up admitted to Raping Joe in their backstory but the show didn't acknowledge it as such and instead acted like it was a case of cheating where they both were in the wrong. not to mention countless examples of domestic violence not being called out as such.

the Hollyoaks writers don't seem to be able to actually handle these storylines Respectfully so Honestly they should just steer clear of them in the future as it honestly just makes for Disheartening viewing imo.
