Any tips for a new player?

Hey guys, I'm new to the HOI series, and just bought HOI4 a few days ago. I feel like I can really get into this game, but I just have a few questions, like for example, during a war, should I just give an army an offensive line and just let the A.I. do it' s thing? Also, where would be the best areas to build factories be, and how many should I build? Also any tips in general would be a big help.
