VR Headset Purchase Advice

Hello Hoggiters,
I have an opportunity to purchase VR in the form of HP Reverb G2 but I need some reviews from fliers who have similar components. I can afford the headset but not the upgrade to the VGA to compensate for the needed power of VR. My system is currently i78700k OC'd to 4.8, 2070 Super OC'd, 32gb RAM OC'd and an SSD that DCS is on.
Is my Reverb G2 experience going to suffer? Optimised or not? I also fly IL2 so I won't be totally disappoint if it dies often on DCS.
