I've decided to give the updated Heavy Sky campaign a try, and I immediately noticed that air engagements have mostly random outcomes, not only when it comes to my involvement, but also when it comes to bots.

Mission 3. Along with 3 wingmen, I am sent to meet 4 Tomcats head-on. Also, some MiG-29s are spawned. Now, Tomcats usually shred all the reds, though sometimes not, and sometimes I get lucky not to just die. Though sometimes not.

Mission 4. I am sent over the mountains. At some point, 4 Falcons spawn some 90km away, as well as some friendlies. Again, I'm facing 4vs4. If I'm lucky, I get one kill before diving hard and avoiding their spamraams, then it's a chaotic dogfight that I may or may not survive. In my experience, I'm more likely to survive WVR than BVR.

I know I'm making a ton of mistakes. I just don't know when :/

So... How should I approach a 4 vs 4 in a Flanker?
