big dude... loooong reach. I play against him in another league. He's hard to move.
you should totally get in touch with Skatetown. There's always a shortage of goalies, especially the senior division. And you don't have to be 50 to play goalie in the senior division.
I've totally found this to be true... skating with better players can make you a better hockey player.
But it's gotta be with the right group. Because of this team, and at 50 years old, I feel like I'm playing some of the best hockey I've ever played. I'm faster, better with the puck, better spacing and ice awareness.
I've played with some higher-level players before and the second you pass the puck behind them or you miss their pass... good luck ever touching the puck again.
That's the thing... our senior division is more skill-based than age-based. I've been consistently blown away by the talent, not just on our team, but in the league as a whole. I know my role... I don't have the best hands but I skate fast, know where to go, and play pretty physical.
Nah. But it gets chippy. Some people like playing in front of the net, some donβt.
I love playing in front of the net.
Iβm a firm believer that when you stop moving you die.
Keep moving!
Sacramento has a pretty strong hockey community, being that there's only one place to play. You'll be playing with or against someone on Sunday, and then hangout with them mid-week while your kids at their hockey practice. It's pretty tight. I played inline at Woodland, Davis, the old Sac Inline, all over the place... bunch of us are now playing ice.

no, she isn't. Goalies are hard to come by so they get an age pass.
