Buying skates online

New player here, I’ve never had my own pair of skates and am still learning how to skate. I am a bit weary about buying skates online because I understand how important the fit is but I’m seeing the skates on clearance so I was just wondering if this would be a waste of money? Looking at the vapor x400 or the same model in supreme or nexus. Also, how long will these sales last and are the in stores?
