Welp it’s a Saturday and it’s a little too late to book a massage therapist or doctors appointment and I’m freaking out a little here.
Long story short, was coming out of a turn last night when I get a sharpish pain on my lower back, about 2 inches left of my spine. It was bearable so I played through it, casually massaging it through the game. After getting into bed, the pain is pretty severe. Rolling side to side hurts and any kind of upper body movement triggers the pain. I tried to do whatever stretch I could,
I suspect the pain is related to a hip flexor problem. Moving my left leg, especially raising, I can feel weakness in the TFL (tendor fascia latae) area. I’m also a long distance runner and have had a history with my left IT band getting inflammed as well.
I’m hoping some foam rolling and a lacross ball will ease the pain but wondering if anyone has gone through this and has any advice. Thanks fellow players!
