Evening everyone! I will try to give a bit of background so that hopefully helps. I have been playing ice hockey for about 18 months and have come a long way in my skating game overall. Now that I play a lot more frequently and my game takes more shape I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on whether I should stick with my current skates, or explore a different brand.
I currently have Bauer Vapor X600's and for the most part they have been pretty solid. I still think they are slightly too large but I have had difficulty finding a boot that is just the right size (currently 10.5D and the 10's were just far too tight) I play a lot of defense and I essentially want to maximize my ability to have better control with stopping, and tight radius turns. I understand a lot of that will be skating ability in general, but I have been told that your skates, or the material on the blades themselves can also help (how accurate that is... I have no clue)
It was suggested that maybe the CCM Ribcor's would be better for my play style, but I really don't know much about all the differences beyond what I have used in my own development. Any feedback would be appreciated, and I will answer any questions if that will help.
thanks in advance!
