Theoretical question: With the goalie pulled, a puck is clearly kicked from center ice into an empty net. Goal or No Goal?

Last night during the sabres game, in an attempt to free the puck, Brian Gionta kicked the puck at past a defender and though it didn't even travel down the ice in the direction of the net, my question is, would a kicked puck with an empty net count?
