The Edmonton Oilers are not the answer I am looking for because they have had several lottery picks and I want to take this question deeper into the draft than #1 overall.
I'm asking if a team is notorious for drafting well and drafting deep.
It's easy to draft well early but you have to be good at it if you consistently do well after the 2nd or 3rd round.
I'm thinking the best example in recent years would be St. Louis but they don't strike me as the team that is famous for their ability to draft. No teams do, actually.
I'm hoping the Blue Jackets can run with that title in the future. They have added an impressive amount of depth to their scouting department in the past two months.
