Text of post for those who don't want to give it traffic:

"I recently stepped away quietly from Twitter/X (I didn’t say anything at the time, this isn’t the airport, departures don’t need to be announced). My reasons were the toxicity of the owner and the unchecked hate/misinformation on the site. Now I need to speak out.

This week as an NHL player and his family were the subject of disgusting and baseless social media rumours, the administrators of this site did nothing (the posts are still up), confirming my decision. I’ll be posting exclusively on Threads/BlueSky for the foreseeable future.
