Not specifically hockey-related, but I figured this is the best place that I know to ask.
I have a 3 year old daughter who has asked a few times about going ice skating, so I wanted to get some advice.
First, does anyone think that 3 is too young to start skating? If so, then the rest of this is moot. I found a "rink" that I like, in that it's small and doesn't seem to be high traffic, so I think I'll take her there even though the price is a bit higher. However, the skates that they have for her are single blade skates, not double blade or double runner. Should I be looking for something else? I am also not the strongest skater (and any advice about how to get better before I start taking her would be appreciated), so my plan was to hold her hand and have her also hold the wall. I can skate backwards (or at least, I could) so is that a better plan? I guess the question is more, how do I skate with her? Any other advice would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for indulging me.
