Hola
I started a new hobby during covid which involves building button boxes for flight and racing sims. Recently I've been thinking of turning it into a part time side hustle.
Normally I 3D print the enclosure, design a custom PCB, mount the buttons on the face of the device, and solder the buttons to the PCB.
I'm looking at simplifying my designs to make them more easy to manufacture, while also moving away from some 3D printed parts.
Essentially, I just need a machine that could punch holes and cut lines into 3-6mm thick 5052 or 6061 aluminum plates. I can get pre-cut metal from a local supplier for pretty cheap but local metal shops tend to charge quite a bit so I'm looking at the option of machining the parts myself.
I was looking as the SainSmart Genmitsu 3018-PROVer which is $400 CAD or $310 USD right now.
Was wondering what are your guys opinions on this router or other routers in this price range. If everything works out, I'll end up upgrading to a bigger CNC, but I don't want to spend all that money right now.
