Post Body

Are there any comprehensive and unbiased texts on the occupation of France during WW2. It seems that the Vichy government were almost puppets but cooperative and that alot of citizens accomplices. I know in war nothing is clear cut but I would be so interested to know what actually happened and the feeling of the general public. I find it hard to blame anyone for what they did to survive, but the holocaust is something I find hard time to delve into just because it's so obsurd. I've danced around the topic for years but always settled for major conflicts and battles but I am fully intrigued to learn how things played out in France and their acceptance of new rule. But also the fact the US sent an ambassador to Vichy, screams that alot of countries were ready to point a gun with one hand over their eye. So yes, if anyone could assist in a good read that would be great, and I'm not afraid if it's to heavy for the average Ernst Junger fan.

The more I look into war I realize it's stupid ideas followed by stupid deaths, performed by brilliant people.
