Hi all, i had 2 questions. How accurate is the size measurments of the persian army/navy and the auxillaries that went along with it? (1.7million troops and 1700 ships with equal if not larger support)

My other question is about an expression used regularly when the army camps. That they drank the rivers dry. Im doubtful they completely exhausted a ruver but did theh chnage ut in such a way that it was noticable enough to be noted as such?
