What was the perception of Germany and Japan post WWII

Post Body

Obviously today Germany and Japan recovered in such a vast was to the point where they are arguably super powers of the world. My question is when the war ended how was the perception of a German or Japanese in Europe and America? Even in today's world there is a sense of phobia of Muslim throughout the US. Especially in a time like the 50s and 60s where shaming groups of people was not frowned upon I imagine the treatment of these people were not good. I would imagine the Europeans carried a hatred of the Germans for decades post WWII. I would also assume due to the nature of warfare of the Japanese that Americans despised the Japanese (my friend's great uncle was involved in the pacific theater and remained racist against all asians his whole life)
