Sto's Album Club Week #1 | Thug Motivation 101 by Young Jeezy
Post Body

Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 is the major label debut and overall third studio album by American rapper Young Jeezy. It was released on July 26, 2005, by his indie record label Corporate Thugz, under the distribution from Def Jam.

The album was supported by four singles: "And Then What" featuring Mannie Fresh, "Soul Survivor" featuring Akon, "Go Crazy" and "My Hood". The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 172,000 copies in the first week. The album was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Go to your kitchen, pull out all the Pyrex items you got, and play this. From start to finish its full of anthems and bangers to keep you standing on the table. I champion this album as one of the pioneers to trap music on a mainstream level, and especially want to highlight the work from Shawty Redd. With instruments like the KORG Triton, Roland TR-808, and MPC2000, he created an orchestral frenzy to accompany Jeezy’s chicken tal It completely makes sense why Jeezy choose to put him on 7 out of 20 songs…which of course happen to be some of my favorite songs on the album. The production on TM101 certainly influenced me to think big on production of my own.
