Do your likes affect who you are shown to?

Post Body

I’m asking because I’m less interested in the people that are liking me recently. 28M and I haven’t sent a like since well before Christmas. I get 3-5 likes a day. Im not looking for lots of chats or dates, I was happy enough just sorting through the likes as they often seemed to be the type of person I’d look for. Then discovering if anything developed and going on a date here and there - I didn’t need anything more.

But recently I’m much less inclined to match with my likes, they just seem less compatible than before. I can’t work out if that’s true or I’ve changed how I view them/disengaged

So my question is, will actually sending some likes improve the likes I get because it affects who you are shown to, or does it make no difference?
