Hi! Been on the app about a week and having a lot of conversations that have been going well. My first day on the app, I matched with a guy who has the same job as me and went to the same grad school. We’ve never met in person (but realized that we’ve been at the same professional/alumni events before) but have mutual professional acquaintances. He was super complimentary, seemed really interested and we set up a tentative date for this Friday. He asked for my number because he wanted to have a phone call and had mentioned wanting to chat this weekend but being out of town. We texted all day on Thursday but I never heard from him over the weekend so I texted him on Monday and said “Hey! Hope you had a good weekend! I know we had talked about getting together on Friday so just wanted to check in and see if that was still the plan!” No response since then.
I know this happens but it’s just so weird because he was the one really pursuing me. AND the professional connection makes it awkward.
Should I send another text? Something like “just closing the loop here— a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to chatting about XXX, but I’m sure I’ll see you around! All the best.”
Or just let it go?
