hi there! i am planning on taking my pup on family vacation to colorado and I wanted to ask what travel gear yall have found useful/not useful. We’re traveling from florida. She’s a 1 yr old 10 lb pup. I’ve gotten her some little booties for her paws, but am kinda stumped on what else could be helpful! Are the backpack carriers worth it? Leashes? open to any and all suggestions and advice!
I use a harness with my dog (1.5 yrs old, 47lbs.) when hiking and this is the one I got which works just fine:
rabbitgoo Dog Harness, No-Pull Pet Harness with 2 Leash Clips, Adjustable Soft Padded Dog Vest, Reflective Outdoor Pet Oxford Vest with Easy Control Handle https://a.co/d/8JscTGi
I typically use this leash:
BAAPET 2/4/5/6 FT Strong Dog... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078MYFT8D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
But I was talking to someone who loved this one and I'm gonna start using it:
SparklyPets Hands-Free Dog Leash... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K513BN6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I carry a collapsible water bowl:
Sea to Summit X-Bowl Collapsible Silicone Camping Dish, Original (22 fl oz) https://a.co/d/7AWjJB8
and just carry the extra water bottle myself, but if I start doing longer hikes (typically just do 6-12 mile hikes with my guy currently) I'm considering a backpack for him so he can carry his own water.
I just carry his treats for him in my own pack (and he likes apples, too) It's all about what you feel you need to pack, I guess.
