Wide hiking shoe/boot recommendations non-GTX preferably!!!
Post Body

I am replacing a pair of Vasque Breeze III’s that were perfect for my foot but the sole is practically gone after so many years of use. It feels pretty overwhelming trying to find something that fits my wide/higher volume foot. I’m hoping to find something that will hold up over time.

Does anyone have recommendations? I tried the Salomon quest 4D yesterday but they were a bit snug and the next size up felt too long while still feeling pretty narrow. I’d also prefer to not have Gore-Tex since I live in SoCal and have never really had a use for it(my feet are warm enough as is) but if finding a shoe without Gore-Tex isn’t really an option then that’s fine since it seems like almost every boot nowadays includes it.

I’d prefer a mid top or high top but at this point, I’ll take recommendations on trail runners too. For context, I do mostly 10-15 mile hikes. Some of these hikes involve water crossings that are deep enough where water will get in no matter what. For this reason, I feel like gtx is useless in my case. I also do the occasional weekend backpacking trip but nothing super crazy.
