Just hiked for the first time!

I went with my dad and we ended up hiking for 12 miles. I love hiking! Its refreshing as hell and the people we met during our hike are all so friendly and supportive. I think i just got a new hobby. We plan to hike again next weekend.
Oh but also, im hungry as hell.i dont think ive ever been this crazy hungry before lol. Is this normal?
And i wanna know do you guys usually bring foods to 10-12 miles hike? We didnt bring any but bought some bananas along our hike
