Post Body
At 50, I figured I was too old to learn to ride a motorcycle...so I bought one and learned how.
At 55, I figure I am too old to start backpack camping...so I did
Now, when I say I started, my goal was:
- loaded (almost) everything I'd need for an overnight
- walked the couple of miles with a pack to a backpacking camp site at Zaleski State Park
- set up a camp and took a nap
- ate a meal, had a coffee
- broke it all down and trekked out
Successful all the way around. I learned a lot. Like why I paid a lot for a backpack and just how heavy 20 pounds is. And most importantly, that I can. Now, I don't know yet if this is a new passion or not but that will work itself out as the next chance to do it comes up.
