USA North East Trails for a beginner

Hi, I have some free time and want to do some trails. I did some hiking in Patapsco Valley State Park , was bit like a rocky >12 incline that I climbed and I really liked it. I was wondering if anyone knows any similar areas in north east. High altitude end point more like, I like taking pictures and so on as well.
