tw for transphobia possibly? nothing too explicit

some backstory: i am transgender (FTM, i am not out to family or at school, only to my friends) and i attend an all girls catholic school in a relatively liberal city. i am currently a senior and have attended this same school for all of high school.

they've always been a little bigoted, there was a racism scandal the summer before i arrived that was shoved under the rug, they openly teach homophobia and transphobia in mandatory religion classes, however subtle they try to make it, and more. but despite that, teachers have still had up blm posters, mini pride flags on desks, and more. they play favorites within the student body and straight up ignore and refuse to do anything when people like myself are being bullied. but like it was pretty normal until recently. it is sort of a known thing that a huge population of that school is queer, whether admin just doesn't know or refuses to acknowledge it, its a known thing.

now just last year, the president that had been there for a while left, and they put in a new one. since then, many changes have been made. one of them being this added to the handbook in the dress code section

(image id: a section in our school handbook labeled \"dress code\". it reads \"The dignity of each student is of the utmost importance at (school name). Students will live, act, and dress according to their biological sex. The dress code exists to help maintain and foster this intention and focus. Students are expected to be in complete uniform from 7:55 a.m. until 2:33 p.m. daily.\"

at the same time we noticed this, two students received phone calls to their parents saying that they were "not dressed according to their gender" because they had worn suits or ties or anything they deemed "more masculine" for senior pictures and the class photo.

we are fairly close with a few teachers, and they know we won't spread things they tell us, so the one teacher told us that because enrollment has been going down, they are presumably trying to pander to more conservative families to try to get it back up. this includes what is pictured above, among other things. he told us that teachers were told to take down black lives matter posters and anything promoting inclusivity.

naturally we are all disgusted by this, but it raises the question, is this legal? i did my research a few years ago, and the laws in place protecting queer students from being forcibly outed to parents do not extend to us because we are a private school and not a public school (i was in a situation where i could've been outed against my will to an unsupporting family, but i couldn't do anything about it because of this). anyone got any advice? we were thinking about tipping it off to a local news source, also because the handbook pdf on the school website is currently locked behind a password only given to students, and not accessible to the public.
