Help for new hifi user

Hi im new to the hobby
now i have some a old sony receiver and i want to connect my sub to it (kenwood super sub) the kenwood only has a sub in and the sony recevier does not have a sub out. now after doing some research online i found line level rca converter's are they ok to use for sub?
