My elderly friends with elderly gear and no wifi seem to have a dead receiver. They think 20 or 25 years old, part of a set with cassette, receiver, CD changer/player, and turn table. It' seemed pretty decent, and they sort of know how to use it.
Maybe it's not broken. Everything seems to successfully go in (CD, phono, FM, AM), but I get no output. It was intermittent and now nothing. I have no idea whether it's worth taking to a repair shop (If I had a bench etc I'd just figure it out).
If it's not worth taking somewhere to repair, any idea of the current minimum replacement? They aren't big audiophiles (they're very old and don't hear that well). Just want to enjoy their CDs, vinyl, and the radio!
Thanks for any suggestions.
