New Player, How Often Does Blizzard Add Heroes?

Hello, I just started playing Heroes of the Storm this week after only throwing a couple hours in DOTA 2 so I’m new to MOBAs period. But I’m just curious how often blizzard adds heroes to the game. I like this over DOTA because there’s no buying and as a Starcraft and Warcraft fan, the characters appeal to me more despite DOTA’s characters essentially being reskins. I’d love to see more Starcraft characters and was curious how often new ones are brought into the game. Thanks
