Post Body

My daughter's one hermit crab has been buried for about two weeks now. This boy was buried, came up the other day but still spends a lot of time buried or digging. We did a tank refresh today, and when I lifted one of their hidey logs he was under there doing this. He has been eating, drinking, and bathing but I haven't seen much other activity and am wondering if it's normal for them to still be adjusting? We just got them in July.

For questions about the tank: 7" substrate 5:1 ratio play sand:coco earth Humidity 71% Temperature 77°F They have multiple hides Fresh water and salt water pool deep enough to submerge 5 shells per crab of preferred shells Fresh food consists of apples, lettuce, PB and strawberries Dry food is meal worms, seaweed, dried red shrimp and egg shells Cuttle bones available as well.
