Ignorance, Tension, and FAQ’s

Post Body

I’m making this post as a plea to the mods and to the community.

I’m a newish crab keeper but have been around here for awhile and feel confident in my knowledge currently (thanks to available resources and advice here).

But i’ve noticed some glaring issues with this community, and they really need to be addressed.

First, this is by far the worst sub i’ve ever seen (and I subscribe to r/crystals) when it comes to ignorance and repeated posts with the same/similar problems, and new folks are NOT reading the available community info/menu/etc before posting.

Second, this sub is CRABBY, people in general here are regularly snide, passive aggressive, and just outright rude. I think the first problem is part of it (we’re all annoyed of seeing the same shit every day-), but I don’t think that’s all of it-and i’m not seeing mods crack down on it much at all.

Third, a lot of frequently asked questions in this sub require urgency along with photos visual feedback. There needs to be a more streamlined way to address some of the FAQ’s we see posted here.

I don’t have many ideas for solutions to these problems aside from vague ideas of better moderation, post regulation and dedicated community posts/threads, but we really need to come together as a community and address the issues we have, because we’re pushing people that need to be here away and causing frustrating for all of the regulars here.
