I got two new hermit crabs on Friday the 10th. As soon as they were put into their tank, they burrowed and haven't come up. This makes sense, since they're de-stressing. My question is, for as long as there is no evidence of them coming to the surface, do I need to throw out their uneaten food? I set out two servings of two complete meals from Naturally Crabby, and a curiosity cube with plain air-popped popcorn in it. I check the tank multiple times a day for activity, so far I've seen no evidence that they've surfaced. Since the food is untouched, can it stay out until they come up? There are no other crabs in the tank, only these two.
