Who here does quick heat methods for oil infusions?

I have no patience so I’m really antsy to make a facial emollient in which I’m using calendula, comfrey and rosehips. I started the cold infusion 4 days ago and I’m tempted to do a low heat, makeshift double boiler situation to get the infusion going but I understand it’s supposed to be the inferior method. I plan to check the temperature of the water and leave it below 110F but I’m wondering if I should just abort the idea entirely and wait for the cold infusion to come through.

I used my crockpot when I first attempted this but even on the “keep warm” setting the water got to like 140F. I guess I’m mostly concerned with compromising the integrity of the herbs but I think I’m gonna give it a go.

I’m not great at measuring either. I had set out to weigh and measure everything to be able to see what I may be doing wrong but when I started this cold infusion I just started pouring things. 🤷🏻‍♀️ itll be a trial and error I supposed

Glad to hear it. I’m planning on using olive oil and beeswax as well, what ratios do you use for a good salve consistency if you don’t mind sharing?
