I got accepted to University of Helsinki as an international student and would like some help in the next steps.

Post Body

I am an international student from Lebanon and have been accepted into the Masters Genetics and Molecular Biosciences. However, I have a couple of questions about housing, living expenses, and the process of residence permit.

Where can I find apartments/private rooms beside HOAS and Unihome? How much should I allocate for living expenses per month? And can I still apply for the residence permit if I am conditionally accepted?

Comments

When I was last there, food was a bit expensive but not so bad, especially not for Europe or so far north. Like ~120 euros on groceries for a week for two people, vegetarian, shopping at Lidl and ethnic groceries.

Thereโ€™s a couple Middle Eastern groceries near Itakeskus and a variety near Hakaniemi. I think the place I bought the good curry paste from is called Jiahe.
