I'm not sure how to go about this so I'll just start from the beginning. My dad is dying of leukemia and also lung cancer. We both try to remain as positive as we can in a situation like this it's not always easy. My mom died painfully and horribly and sudden two years ago to ALS. Those who don't know what ALS is consider itself lucky it's a real bitch. Since she died his only motivation has been his animals one is a old fight dog outta Philly they were gonna put her down at a kill shelter 10 years ago and they kinda just let us take her out the back door. Poor girl had cigarettes put out in her face, ribs broken, she was tortured by sick indivials she has bad ptsd. She was maybe 6-8 at the time so here we are in 2024 and somehow she's still going probably due to the amazing life my dad and mom gave her. She's somewhere between 17-20 years old we kinda hoped we would wake up one morning and find her gone to doggy heaven peacefully in her sleep. Eating is to a minimum legs not working shes just going to the bathroom where she lays. Apart of me feels like he is holding on to her because of it being my mom's dog. His dog who also is a rescue has been shitting blood for a few days thought maybe he got into something he's an older dog also but not as old. After a tough conversation with my father we have come to the conclusion she needs to be put down it's inhumane to keep her alive and possibly the other dog also before he gets to the point he is suffering bad it's gotten worse each day with him. So looks like after watching my mom wither away now I gotta put both family pets down and then my father( God willing when I'm 123 years old) I left my job to be more around for him he's on disability and I don't got barely $20 to my name. Im unable to get assistance from the vets here also the one that would help he took some cat tht got hit by a car last year, and him thinking he did a good deed racked up a hefty bill with them. What the hell can I do besides smother them myself. Sounds fucked up I know I'm just stressed.
