All the videos I see on NSFW subreddits play on the app without directing you to the original site. However, when I try to post a link from redgifs, it only creates a thumbnail and clicking it takes you to redgifs.com. I also tried using imgur (the app) but after posting the link, it says there is a problem and the video isn’t visible at all. How is everyone managing to post these links so that the video is visible directly on reddit (I’m only using the mobile app)? I’d appreciate anyone who can help me, I’m absolutely horrible with these things 😅
Hmmm that’s interesting since to me the videos play directly 😧 So I’m sorry but I don’t know how to help with that. And for the images, I usually have the option to post an image. Sometimes it’s not there so I just close the app and when I come back the option is there. Are you posting your own images? I think many subreddits don’t allow posting other people’s content.
But I see other people’s videos playing in the app even though I don’t have a third party reddit app. I guess this wouldn’t be possible if the issue was dependant on a third party app? I think I’m doing something wrong on my part, maybe with the link…
Thanks! I’ll give this a try some time.

Yesss I just resolved the issue with some help! That’s an old video that I posted via redgifs before. Now I downloaded the same video on Imgur, tapped the video and got a link. Pasted the link and changed the .mp4 to .gifv. Seems to be working now! 🥳
I know that you didn’t ask but in case someone as helpless with tech as me is ever wondering how to do it…
