Any alterations/adjustments you always make?

Since we've had Hello Fresh for over three years now, we have kind of an unspoken understanding that we'll order X thing but always do Y instead, mostly for taste reasons. For example:
- Always steaming broccoli instead of roasting it. I really don't like the texture or smell of roasted broccoli, but steamed broccoli is lovely.
- Adding scallion greens to mashed potatoes even when the recipe doesn't call for it, because it adds crunch and flavor.
- Either subbing in parsley for cilantro or just going without (both my husband and I think cilantro tastes like soap).
- Putting in the entire spice packet, even if it says that you should only use half the packet for two people and save the rest for something else (where??). More curry powder or smoked paprika or whatever is never a bad thing.
Do any of you have tweaks you usually do?
