Why isn’t Kicking a democratic process?

As faithful citizens of Super Earth, it is our sworn duty to uphold democracy in every corner of the galaxy.

At the risk of sounding treasonous, why have our leaders implemented an undemocratic system for removing accused traitors. Do they not deserve a fair trial?

Perhaps they were holding the airstrike as they got refilled by a friendly autocannon? Maybe the squad leader is too stimmed up to realize that the smoke strategem is actually useful when wielded skillfully?

I respectfully open discussion on the topic of vote to kick.
