Hey all - looking to convert my gas furnace to electric. Still waiting for IRA incentives to come out. However, the Energy star tax credit: (up to $2k under form 5695) say: “In general, all ducted heat pumps that have earned the ENERGY STAR label are eligible, as well as certified mini-split systems (non-ducted) with: SEER2 > 16; EER2 > 12; HSPF2 > 9”
I am looking at Goodman heat pump from a local, independent contractor that might give me a screaming deal that is substantially lower than the local HVAC co - 3 Ton 16 SEER R410A HEAT PUMP Item # 3557356 Goodman Part # GSZ160361. All the spec sheets/brochures say it has SEER/EER: 16 seer /13 eer.
Home Depot and Goodman's main website says it’s Energy Star, but it’s not on the energy star site under qualified products (a lot isn’t though - no Daikin or Goodman). Plus the unit is listed as discontinued on AHRI with 14.5 seer/ 8.5 hspf on the AHRI directory (which the database is very confusing to sort)... so it's not qualified based on that?
I can’t actually find the certificate on what the actual SEER/HSPF rating is. So what is sufficient for filing tax credit cuz what website says is kind of contradictory to the AHRI.
