Balance suggestion: Opening hand size/coin reveal timing.
Post Body

I feel like the way opening hands are passed out gives a major advantage to the player who goes second. I think there's a few minor adjustments that could be made to make the game start on a more even footing for both players:

  1. Remove the starting player's first turn draw and show both players 4 cards from their opening hand. This would give the player who goes first 1 extra opportunity to hit a crucial 1 drop, without giving them any card advantage out of it.

  2. Hand out the coin AFTER opening hands are chosen. If both players see the same number of cards at the start of the game, you can move the coin toss to after hands are chosen. This will have a minor affect on how you choose your opening hand, and adds an element of risk vs reward.
