Good Evening
I am an Assistive Technology Specialist and I currently have a client that wants to go back to school in the medical field, and she has limited use of her upper extremities, so I’m trying to determine how Dragon NaturallySpeaking will work with EMR/EHR software.
Nuance recently changed their medical version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking to a subscription-based purchase that really puts the software outside the affordability of an individual attending school (student). Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4 was great and checked all the boxes but is no longer for sale.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional Individual has full command and text control in the major web browsers, and so I was trying to get an idea of current trends in EMR/HER software. Dragon. NaturallySpeaking can still work with a client install of EMR/EHR software (If its windows), but it doesn’t have full command and text control if it’s not supported, which I don’t think it is unless it’s the medical version.. There are workaround with the dictation box and such, but it sure is a long way from the Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4.
One more question, Are the clients for practitioners and other staff typically windows or Citrix based?
Thanks so much for the help
