What determines whether a headphone is an "Entry-level" headphone?

Post Body

I see reviewers say this time and time again when referencing something like the Hifiman Sundara, and others which I'm forgetting in this moment.

The thing I don't understand is, where do these arbitrary terms come from? What does entry level really mean? Is the implication that the headphones are very good, but not good enough to be endgame material?

If that's the case, why is it that I see some people prefering the Sundara over something like the Ananda? I currently own the Ananda, but have had quite a lot of comfort issues with it as of late, and was considering going back to the Sundara, and while I do see some folks prefering the Sundara over the ananda, I don't want to be seen as stupid for "downgrading" from the Ananda to the Sundara, and these terms are like minefields to navigate through.

I think the most hilarious one I have seen so far is when someone here called the HD600 "Consumer-Fi." like what does this even mean?

I'd love some insight, haha.
