Two questions. I recently purchased a pair of ER4XR's to replace my aging Shure 315 (now called the 415). I find the XR's overly bright, and lacking depth. It was suggested to me to change the stock 1500 ohm filters (green) with 'others'... but which direction do to improve the depth is a mystery to me. From Grey at the low end at 330 to yellow a the high end at 4700. Any help in understanding this is appreciated.
Secondly, I purchased the XR's instead of the S knowing I like more depth , but without understanding the tradeoff in distortion (so I am told). Is it the preference of the experts here that the S's are preferred due to the accuracy?
Thanks
