I have been using Sennheiser HD 598C's with no DAC/Fancy sound card for the last few years with an AUX Cable plugged into my PC

There has been an incredibly lack of punchy bass for some odd reason but I never looked into it.

Just today I decided to try a another headset but it was a Cheap generic Microsoft USB Headset. (Microsoft LiteChat)

I plugged it in and I was shocked! there was so much more bass in these cheap $60 headphones compared to the $250 598Cs I had been using, like it was insane. I could feel the vibrations in my ears with these shitty Microsoft headphones

Is this merely due to the fact that im not using any fancy DAC/Sound Card for my pc?

The quality compared to the Microsoft headset was like night and day!
