Hi there, I'm really curious about whether I should buy a tubes amp but I have no way to know if they suit my taste, and I'm clearly not the only one since there are lots of posts out there of people asking for plugins that simulate the sound of tube amps to get an idea of what they sound like in order to decide if buying one is worth the investment. I haven't found anyone, btw.
But I think there's a very simple way to let someone hear what tubes sound like using a regular, analytical, solid state dac/amp: recording the output of one. I think tube amps manufacturers could do that themselves to advertise their products but, since they'r not doing it, I would really appreciate if some kind soul out there with the required equipment could play a song with his amp and feed the output into an ADC and share the file. I know the result would be lossy and very dependant on the ADC quality but it should still be enough to give me an idea of what's the famous tubes sound.
If I could request two specific songs for this test would be great but any track would be infinitely appreciated. So, just throwing it out there, thanks a lot in advance..
