Headache

I have the major headaches. They come out of nowhere and usually happen more after than not when laying down. It is intense pain very quick, then dies down in a minute or two but still pretty painful for about 30 minute then gone. Sometimes I get very cold or nauseated or have bad vertigo. Is this serious? Just the amount of pain is startling and debilitating.
