Hello all! As the title says, I'm looking for some places around Hattiesburg where I could metal detect or go hunting for some arrowheads. I work as an archaeologist professionally, and its essentially my hobby as well. This town of ours has a rich history and I'd like to get my hands in the dirt and find some of it. I try to stay on the legal and ethical side of the hobby, so I really want permission from property owners or possible connections to property owners to go searching on their property.

As far as metal detecting goes, I'm pretty good at digging clean holes. I can refill the hole and replace the grass with little visible damage to your yard. Anything I find on your property is your property (though I would very much like to keep my finds). I keep good notes on my finds on the off chance it helps the historic record someday and usually do a little research on more interesting finds, which I'm happy to share the results of.
